When a city has an eye on the future it means growth never ends. Growth doesn't mean a bigger city, it means a better city; a city that proactively adapts to changes in commerce, transportation, and population. Thanks to the vision of our planners, public institutions, and private entities, New Brunswick is embracing change and undergoing an urban renaissance that will serve as a model for other cities. This vision imbues New Brunswick with an energy and vibrancy not found in a typical city. But then, New Brunswick isn't a typical city; it's a city that just keeps getting better.
The Hub @ New Brunswick Station, totaling over 4 million square feet of a vibrant mixed-use destination, will be located in the heart of New Brunswick City Center and adjacent to one of the Northeast’s major commuter rail stations, Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and the world headquarters of Johnson & Johnson. It plans to offer a pedestrian-oriented retail experience for the tens of thousands of employees, students, residents, and commuters in downtown New Brunswick.
Governor Murphy announced last November at a virtual media conference that the first four tenants of The Hub will be two institutions of higher learning, Rutgers University, and Princeton University, along with two health care corporations, RWJBarnabas Health and Hackensack Meridian Health.
The Hub’s lab-to-marketplace potential could generate thousands of jobs and contribute millions of dollars to the state economy.
He also left the door open for other suitors wanting to be a part of revolutionizing research and development in New Brunswick like Johnson & Johnson and Bristol Myers Squibb.
The New Brunswick Cultural Center is has been an exciting transformation in New Jersey's beloved Theatre District. Located on a block stretch of Livingston Avenue at the heart of City Center, NBPAC combined two contemporary performing arts and theater venues, a tall tower blending urban and residential spaces, and a new parking facility! The expansion improved visitors' access to new homes for the George Street Playhouse, American Repertory Ballet, the Crossroads Theatre Company, and other popular City Center landmarks.
Patrons and artists have been able to enjoy and host a greater variety of additional shows at the extraordinary venue.
